Here we have Lamb who abused her own daughter, sacrificed her own followers, did truly inhumane things all in the pursuit of creating the first "Utopian" - it's literally her life's work. To that I'd say, Eleanor being able to forgive Lamb after everything her mother put her through would be the greatest way to rebuke Sophia's beliefs. You mentioned that killing Lamb would be the final nail in the coffin for her ideology and eliminate the threat of her coming back. I just like when characters have the strength to forgive someone who's deeply and personally wronged them - probably because that's something I'd like to have the strength to do myself and constantly find myself falling short of that. Having to do that while shouldering the weight of killing your last surviving parental figure would be pretty rough.Īlso I just prefer the theme of breaking the cycle of violence. At the end of the game Eleanor already has a daunting task ahead of her - namely trying to survive on the surface. In short, what the fuck achievments? Not cool.I prefer the best good ending. I assumed the building would explode or something and I wouldn't be able to search for Audio Logs and Plasmids, but now that I know about the requirements of this achievment that particular save has become much more valuable. I actually saved before I killed him however. I'm just assuming this of course, but I doubt that anyone is going to get this achievement on their first playthrough without already knowing about it. Really, what I'm trying to get at is that no one who is going to save every Little Sister and try to play a moral character is going to spare Gil. Gil served the family, and by killing him you are affording who under normal circumstances would be your enemy with his final wish. By saying that leaving him alive is morally correct, you are pretty much saying that killing a Splicer should be considered bad. All he is is a giant deformed Splicer that hacked into security. He wanted to repent for his actions, and the only way he could do that was to leave detailed instructions on how someone could destroy him. That being said, it doesn't get anymore clear cut than Gil. One could argue that he deserves to die, while on the other hand you could also argue that he really can't do anything worse to Rapture than has already happened so leaving him to deal with his guilt could also be considered morally correct. Really, Stanely's is the only one I can see being debatable at all. At that point, I felt that it was better to leave him alive as it seemed a much better punishment than to just end him then and there. Now, this one was a bit more difficult because I personally was entirely set on killing him until it was revealed that Lamb was already aware of what he did. He sends you out to cover up his tracks, and through the Little Sisters you can learn of his actions. Stanley probably does deserve to die, and he killed an entire section of Rapture just to save himself. Grace was convinced by Sophia Lamb that Delta was a mindless monster, and although she tried to kill Delta it was on the basis that he cared only for himself and would destroy anything that got in his way. However, in terms of being the morally correct thing to do that seems to be the polar opposite. Each of the killable characters you are presented with offers a unique moral delimma in terms of what they have done and more specifically how their choices have impacted you. I mean, if we are going to take the term "savior" literally then yes I can understand saving Gil being part of the requirements. Now really, that doesns't make much sense. Also Big Daddy killing Little Sisters doesn't make much sense, amirite? Anyway, I was reading through secret achievments, and I noticed that Savior requires you to kill Gil Alexander as opposed to letting him remain alive in his now insane state. So I just beat the game, and I tried to do my first playthrough the morally correct way because I wanted to save all the Sisters to see what the new presents were.
